This low protein mulled wine recipe is the perfect Christmassy drink to keep you nice and toasty! This Mulled ‘Wine’ (non-alcoholic) is ideal for those on a low protein diet and exchange free!


  • 1 Orange
  • 8 Whole cloves
  • 500ml Grape juice
  • 1tsp Golden caster sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Star anise
  • 1 tsp All spice, ground


  1. Slice the orange into circle pieces, about 1cm thick, then cut these slices into halves.
  2. Place the rest of the ingredients into a large saucepan, bring to the boil then reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Ladle into mugs, add the orange slice to taste, and serve.
